Who I am
Javier García Toni is now working at Ciudadanos (Citizens Party) as the deputy of the Secretariat for Programs, led by Toni Roldán. He has been speechwriter and researcher for the President, Javier Solana, at ESADEgeo-Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics of ESADE Business School (Universitat Ramón Llull).
Previously, he spent a year and a half in the European Council on Foreign Relations, as Advocacy and Communications Assistant and Communications Consultant. He has also worked as Communication Assistant at Club de Madrid (The World's Largest Forum of Former Presidents and Prime Ministers) and as Site Producer in the Finnish company Sulake. He began his professional activity in national TV channel Cuatro.
He has also been a Communications Consultant regarding speechwriting and storytelling. And also, you know: research, communications strategy, reputation, public affairs. Creating contents and thinking outside the box.
He has collaborated with leading Spanish media such as El País, El Mundo, Cadena SER, Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) or Capital Radio. He has managed relations with international references like the Brookings Institute, the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal or Project Syndicate. He is also specialized in web managing, social media and 2.0.
He is co-founder of the civil society platform CC/ Europa, 'Con Copia a Europa', and editor in Passim.eu.
Outside ESADEgeo, Javier is International Affairs Columnist and International Politics Analyst in Zoom News.
Javier has a Masters degree in International Relations and Communication from the Complutense University in Madrid. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from the same university.
He has published a research for the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos (San Pablo CEU University) called El planteamiento de las asociaciones estratégicas: la respuesta europea ante los desafíos que presenta el nuevo orden mundial.
He speaks native Spanish and fluent English.
